Line Cap

The Line Cap controls determine what the ends of selected lines, freehand shapes, curves, poly lines and spline lines will look like.

This illustration shows how you can fix what looks like a bug (left graphic) by changing the line cap on thickly stroked oval.

Chopped: the line is squared off at its end point; there is no projection beyond the end of the path.

A filled semicircular arc is drawn around the end point.

The line is squared off beyond the end point at a distance equal to half the line width.
